Recycling for the Future

Over the past few decades recycling has become a kind of ancient religion — something most people blindly follow but don’t really understand why. So, in the next few paragraphs we are going to attempt explain why recycling is so important.

To begin with, recycling reduces global warming. As most of our leading scientists freely acknowledge, the Earth has entered a warming phase due mostly to man-made pollutants. And the fact is that making products from scratch releases more CO2 than recycling Click here does. For example, producing new items made of metals like aluminium creates 90% more CO2 than recycling does, which is why we should always recycle our aluminium cans.

Another material that should always be recycled is plastic. Why? Well, did you know that it takes twice as much energy to burn plastic as it does to recycle it? Or how about the fact that it takes double the amount of energy to make paper rather than recycle it. (more...)
